Teledyne CARIS is pleased to announce its 16th International User Group Conference, ‘CARIS 2017’. It will be held in Ottawa, Canada at the Sheraton Ottawa Hotel from June 19 to June 22, 2017.
This four-day conference is the largest gathering of CARIS software users worldwide. In addition to industry presentations, CARIS 2017 will include a dynamic two-day ‘Data Processing Boot Camp’ which is open to data analysts of all levels wishing to increase their knowledge and efficiency with using CARIS software. Each delegate attending the boot camp will have a dedicated work station for this hands-on training experience. It will be led by Teledyne CARIS software experts, focused on educating about emerging trends in the hydrographic and geomatics industry and how to integrate effective solutions into best practices to develop time saving techniques. Topics to be covered will include advancements in multibeam sonar data acquisition, working with lidar data, utilizing process automation in your workflow, and the further analysis of your sonar and lidar data sets for engineering use cases.
Specialized user-group meetings for existing users of HIPS and SIPS, Bathy DataBASE (BDB), and Hydrographic Production Database (HPD) will be running parallel to the boot camp. These meetings pose a unique opportunity for high-level operators and management to share experiences, challenges, solutions, and collaborate on future directions of CARIS software. CARIS 2017 represents the 9th time that leaders and power users have come together in this type of forum.
The timing of the conference coincides with Canada’s 150th year anniversary and the city will be alive with multicultural events, showcases, and people. This location provides an exciting and engaging opportunity for CARIS software users to experience both the conference, as well as the wide spectrum of Canadian diversity.
